About

HISTORY

Founded in 1984, Rikkis Taxis originally operated a share-and-ride service around Cape Town’s City Bowl in the “half loaf” Suzuki vehicle. Backpackers, cost-conscious locals and the young and young at heart formed Rikkis core customer base, and the business steadily grew into a franchise.

When Dieter Faustmann bought the business in 2005, he and his partners expanded the Rikkis offering and established a pre-booked door-to-door service and a new call centre. They grew its share fleet, introducing the London cab offering in 2006 and evolving Rikkis into the brand it is today.
