Rikkis Taxis a L’Ormarins
However would The Queen get about should she touch down in SA? Why in a London cab, of course. It’s not a wonder one of Her Majesty’s favourite horsing events would be associated with Rikkis.
Over the years, our taxis have become synonymous with the London black cab. So much so that when branded transportation was required, L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate could think of none other than Rikkis to bear its prestigious banner. And with pride, we rode up to the occasion…
Currently, a handful of L’Ormarins-branded London cabs are enjoying an elegant procession through the streets of Cape Town. Half blue, half white, the taxis are perfectly in theme with the prominent horseracing event. They’re just as easy as their black and yellow cousins to spot too!
A Look at L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate
In its 154th year, L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate was first held to honour equestrian-enthusiast Queen Victoria. Since then, it has grown into one of the top 5 horseracing events in the world.
Spectators will witness jockeys and their thoroughbreds compete in 12 races followed by a main event where the winner will be awarded R1 million and a trophy. All this amidst local and international fashionistas, celebrities and socialites.
Get your year off to a galloping start with one of South Africa’s most prestigious equestrian events…and Rikkis! Need a ride? Book a taxi.
